How can I explain
the delicacy of your smile?
Unworried and uninhibited,
a smile of pleasure
pure and simple.
Like simple syrup,
our love is an easy recipe,
warm, sticky fingers,
sweetness in mouths,
handfed hummingbird
heartbeats. Let plump lips
shape smiles. Laughter
makes strange shapes
of tangled limbs,
happy shapes.
